Earlier, the Uttarakhand government had told the high court that the Kovid-19 situation in the state had improved. Chardham said that the people living on the Yatra route depend on the devotees who come there for their livelihood. Asked to be allowed to travel.
The Uttarakhand government has decided to allow local devotees to visit Chardham from July 1. However, the High Court imposed stay on this. The government has challenged this in the Supreme Court.
